Who can benefit from sports performance therapy?

Anyone who is physically active, from professional athletes to weekend warriors can benefit from sports performance therapy. It’s for those who want to improve their athletic performance, prevent injuries or recover from sports related injuries. It’s also for those starting a new sport or fitness program as it helps develop a solid foundation of movement and strength that reduces injury risk. Whether you’re training for competition or just looking to get fit, Physiothenix sports performance therapy in Toronto can support your goals.

WHAT IS SPORTS PERFORMANCE
THERAPY?

Sports performance therapy is a type of physical therapy that focuses on improving athletic ability, preventing injuries and physical performance. It combines sports training, strength training, and rehabilitation to help you maximize your full potential. We assess your movement patterns, biomechanics and physical limitations and design programs to address specific needs such as power, agility, endurance, or strength. It’s more than traditional physical therapy as we tailor our interventions to the demands of your sport or activity.

At its heart, sports performance therapy is about proactive, preventative care and recovery. Through a variety of exercises, mobility drills and conditioning techniques, we support athletes at every stage from injury prevention to post injury recovery. By optimizing muscle function, increasing joint mobility and improving biomechanics we help you perform at your best, reduce the risk of injury and excel in your sport.

How does sports performance therapy prevent injuries?

Sports performance therapy prevents injuries by addressing biomechanical imbalances, increasing flexibility and strengthening key muscle groups used in your sport. Therapists optimize movement patterns and promote efficient body mechanics which reduces stress on joints and minimizes overuse injuries. By increasing stability, mobility and functional strength we prepare your body for the demands of your sport and reduce the risk of both acute and chronic injuries.

Because of Physiothenix I am back to feeling great, riding my bike, and playing basketball. I've had quite a bit of experience rehabbing from sports injuries and Landyn is the first physiotherapist who not only rehabbed my knee, but strengthen all the surrounding areas by adding in activities that simulate the sports I play. He really cares about getting you back to doing the activities you love and making sure you are stronger than before the injury.

CODY WESLEY

I highly recommend Joshua as a chiropractor! I was struggling with thoracic pain that affected my muscle-ups, but after just a few sessions, I noticed a significant improvement. Joshua took the time to assess my condition and created a tailored treatment plan. His approach not only alleviated my pain but also improved my mobility and strength. He also provided valuable exercises to help prevent future issues. I can now perform muscle-ups without discomfort! Thanks Joshua!
